The price difference between them comes down to the actual amount of gold present: gold-filled is a solid layer of 14k gold bonded to a metal base, while 18k gold is a solid wire made of 75% pure gold, hallmarked and certified — which gives it a resale value proportional to the gold it contains. Hand-shaped with pliers in a Paris atelier since 2014, never cast in a mold, these pieces are presented in a jewelry box and come with a 10-year guarantee on 18k gold and a 1-year guarantee on gold-filled and sterling silver.
