Personalized brooches

Both personalizable brooch styles — the Safety Pin and the Original — accept up to ten hand-shaped letters. Lettering follows the Maison's signature rule: it's written entirely in lowercase, except for the letter "J," which is hand-shaped in uppercase when it opens the word. Only one script styles the hand-shaped word — cursive. No block or architectural lettering exists on these pieces.

The Maison does not hand-shape accents or apostrophes. Spaces, however, can be added upon request, allowing for a first name followed by an initial, or two short words joined together. Symbols also remain possible upon request: it's best to discuss these directly with customer service when placing your order rather than guessing what a given piece can accommodate.

Once the word is hand-shaped, the entire brooch undergoes work-hardening, a cold metalworking process that gives it shape memory and resilience. This step is performed on the finished piece as a whole, never letter by letter — and it's precisely what sets a hand-shaped piece apart from jewelry where a design is stamped into a flat surface. The hand-shaped wire is further reinforced with laser micro-welding at tension points, a technique that strengthens the piece without ever altering its shape.

Manufacturing time varies by material: 1 to 3 business days for sterling silver and 14k gold-filled, 2 to 5 business days for 18k gold. This timeline reflects the time spent in the workshop, before shipping. Home delivery is then added on top, taking between 2 and 5 days. In Paris, two boutique-exclusive options are available: in-store personalization in about thirty minutes, or same-day courier delivery.

14k gold-filled, also known as Gold Filled, is a solid layer of 14k gold bonded to a base metal core. It contains 50 to 100 times more gold than traditional gold plating, giving it the same properties as solid 14k gold wire. It's available in yellow and rose, never in white.

18k gold is a solid gold wire composed of 75% pure gold, sometimes referred to as "traditional French gold." Every brooch hand-shaped in this material is hallmarked, certified, and hand-shaped by one of the Maison's jewelry artisans. It comes in yellow and white within this collection.

Sterling silver is an alloy containing 92.5% pure silver. Its bright, luminous white color, combined with its hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties, makes it a material well-suited to sensitive skin — including for a brooch worn close to the collar.

The choice between the three materials mainly depends on how you plan to wear the brooch and the level of care you're willing to give it, detailed in the next section.

14k gold-filled requires no special care: an occasional soft cloth is enough, and unlike traditional gold plating, it's not damaged by water. The only precaution concerns intense physical activity or repeated handling, which should be avoided to preserve the delicacy of the hand-shaped wire. Its lifespan is measured in decades.

Sterling silver is a living metal: on contact with air or moisture, a thin layer of oxidation may appear — a natural and reversible phenomenon that never compromises the quality of the piece. Cleaning with lukewarm soapy water and a soft cloth is enough, but unlike gold-filled, it's best to avoid the pool, the shower, and sports while wearing a silver brooch.

18k gold likewise requires no special care: lukewarm water, mild soap, and drying with a soft cloth.

Every brooch is presented in a jewelry box upon leaving the workshop. A piece hand-shaped to order with the word chosen by the customer cannot be exchanged or refunded, unlike a non-personalized piece.
