The Personalized Original Brooch in White 18k gold belongs to the Original line, the piece that started it all. Hand-shaped with pliers, no molds involved, it stands apart through its solid 18k gold wire: our artisans train for months before shaping their first piece. Work-hardening, applied to the entire piece after shaping — never letter by letter — gives the wire its shape memory and resilience. White gold doesn't oxidize, which makes it the material to recommend for anyone who swims often, exercises frequently, or has their hands in water throughout the day; like all our materials, it's hypoallergenic. This 18k gold piece, hallmarked, holds a value proportional to the gold it contains, unlike gold-filled wire, which is a solid layer of 14k gold over a base metal. It comes presented in a jewelry box.
How to choose your Personalized Original Brooch
This piece can be personalized with up to 10 letters, hand-shaped into a word, a name, or one or several initials. Lettering is done in lowercase cursive, except for the letter "J," which is hand-shaped in uppercase at the start of a word; accents, apostrophes, and special characters cannot be hand-shaped, though spaces can be added upon request, as can certain symbols (a number, a heart, an infinity sign). Another alphabet or language can also be discussed with the atelier. Hand-shaping takes about 30 minutes — enough time to have your piece personalized directly at the atelier, in front of you. This piece is also available in Yellow 14k gold-filled, Rose 14k gold-filled, Sterling silver, Rose 18k gold, and Yellow 18k gold, with warranty terms that vary by material: this 18k gold piece carries a 10-year warranty from the date of purchase, while Yellow or Rose 14k gold-filled carries a 1-year warranty (with the shine guaranteed for life), and Sterling silver carries a 1-year warranty.
