Atelier Paulin shapes every piece of jewelry from a single length of precious metal wire, formed with pliers by the artisans of the Maison, then work-hardened and laser micro-welded. No mould, no machine: one gesture, one piece.

IThe wire
One wire, in one piece.
The letter is not cut into a surface: it is the wire itself.
Where most message jewelry is cut out of a flat plate, we start from a length of precious metal wire: sterling silver 925, gold-filled 585/1000 or 750/1000 gold (18k). The word comes from the wire itself, shaped with pliers, and that is what gives each piece its lightness and its line. No mould, no duplication: unlike an engraved bracelet, the piece only exists once it has been shaped by hand, and two identical first names never give two identical pieces.
IIThe gesture
With pliers, in about 30 minutes.
The wire is shaped by hand, with pliers, letter after letter, in cursive. Our artisans train on each gesture for months before they shape their first piece. A personalized piece takes about 30 minutes of work at the bench. That is also the time it takes to have a piece personalized in front of you at the atelier.
IIIWork-hardening
The metal, worked cold.
Once the whole piece is shaped, it is work-hardened cold. This mechanical working of the metal gives the wire its shape memory and its resilience: the piece returns to its line, day after day. Work-hardening is done on the piece as a whole, never letter by letter.
IVLaser micro-welding
Reinforced at the tension points.
The shaped wire is laser micro-welded at the tension points, on sterling silver 925, gold-filled 585/1000 and 750/1000 gold. An invisible reinforcement, so that a piece made never to be taken off can last through the years. There is no weld between the letters: the wire stays continuous from one end of the word to the other.

All of our materials are hypoallergenic. Each one has its own light, its own behavior in water and its own way of being repaired: everything about our materials.
Sterling silver 925
Silver jewelry92.5% pure silver. White, luminous, hypoallergenic and antibacterial. A living metal: a light oxidation can appear, natural and reversible.
Gold-filled 585/1000
Gold-filled jewelryA solid envelope of 585/1000 gold, 50 to 100 times more gold than a gold-plated piece. Yellow or rose. It is not afraid of water, and its shine is guaranteed for life.
750/1000 gold
750/1000 gold jewelryA solid gold wire, 75% gold, the 18k gold of the French tradition. Yellow, rose or white. Hallmarked, certified, shaped by one of our jewelry artisans.
VThe atelier
Five artisans, more than 100 pieces a day.
Every piece is shaped in Paris, from precious metal wire. The boxes and the supplies (clasps, chains) come from Europe and the United States. Since 2014, our atelier has trained its artisans on each gesture for months. By appointment, it opens its doors: you can watch your piece being made.
Guaranteed 10 years on 750/1000 gold, 1 year on the rest
Our warranties10 years on 750/1000 gold, 1 year on gold-filled 585/1000 and sterling silver 925. The shine of gold-filled is guaranteed for life.
Repaired at the atelier
Care and repairReshaping and cleaning are free, whatever the age of the piece. Sterling silver 925 and 750/1000 gold can be re-welded, on quotation.

What customers often ask us

Why do you say hand-shaped rather than engraved?
Because the letter is not cut into a flat surface: it is the wire itself, shaped with pliers. That is what gives the piece its lightness and its line, and it is why no mould is ever involved.

Can a wire piece be repaired?
Yes. Sterling silver 925 and 750/1000 gold can be repaired and re-welded at the atelier, on quotation. Gold-filled 585/1000 cannot be re-welded: if it breaks cleanly, the piece is remade from new, at half price outside the warranty. Reshaping and cleaning are free, whatever the age of the piece.

Can I come and watch my piece being shaped?
Yes. From 15 October 2026, our boutique on the courtyard at 8 bis rue de Braque (Le Marais, Paris 3rd) is open Monday to Saturday, 11 am to 7 pm, and a piece can be personalized in front of you in about 30 minutes. Custom pieces are also received by appointment. The Studio and the Make it Live experience.
