Terms of sale
Version of 7 November 2026.
1. Who is selling
Atelier Paulin, a simplified joint stock company with a sole shareholder (SASU) with share capital of €4,165. Registered office: 229 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris, France. RCS Paris 808 575 195. EU VAT number: FR37 808 575 195. Phone: 07 68 58 00 35.
Workshop and boutique: 8 bis rue de Braque, 75003 Paris. To write to us: the website chat, at the bottom right of each page.
2. What these terms govern
These general terms of sale govern sales of jewelry concluded on the website atelierpaulin.com between Atelier Paulin and a consumer customer. Sales to resellers are subject to their own terms. The version online on the day of the order applies. The customer accepts it by confirming their order.
3. The jewelry
The pieces of jewelry are described and photographed as accurately as possible. Handcrafted, they may show slight variations from one piece to another, which give them their character and do not constitute a lack of conformity.
If a piece of jewelry turns out to be unavailable after the order, the customer is notified by email and refunded.
4. Prices
Prices are displayed in the currency of the website, taxes included. Delivery costs are added to them and are shown before the order is confirmed.
Outside the European Union, we ship with customs duties and taxes paid: the price paid when ordering is the final price, and nothing is payable on delivery. Within the European Union, there are no customs duties.
Atelier Paulin may change its prices at any time. The applicable price is the one displayed when the customer confirms their order.
5. The order
The customer chooses their jewelry and, on the product page of the piece, enters their personalization if there is one. They check their cart, fill in their contact details, delivery method and payment, then confirm. They can correct their order up to this confirmation.
The order is final once confirmed and paid. A confirmation is sent by email. Online confirmation is equivalent to a signature (Articles 1366 and 1367 of the French Civil Code). Unless proven otherwise, our computerized records, kept under reasonable security conditions, serve as proof of exchanges, orders and payments.
Atelier Paulin may refuse an order in the event of a declined payment, an unpaid amount or an ongoing dispute with the customer.
6. Payment
Payment is made using the methods offered at the payment step, including bank card, PayPal and Shop Pay. Payment in installments, when offered, is provided by the provider indicated at this step. Payments are encrypted and processed by secure payment providers.
The jewelry remains the property of Atelier Paulin until the price has been paid in full.
7. Delivery
Timelines, carriers and rates are shown on the product page of the piece, at the payment step and in the shipping policy. Unless a date has been agreed, the piece is delivered no later than 30 days after the order (Article L. 216-1 of the French Consumer Code). In the event of a delay, the customer has the rights provided for by Article L. 216-6 of the same Code, including the right to terminate the contract after asking us to deliver within a reasonable time.
The risk of loss or damage passes to the customer when they take physical possession of the piece (Article L. 216-4). If the parcel is lost by the carrier or returns to the workshop (not collected from the pickup point, incomplete address), Atelier Paulin makes sure the customer receives their piece: it sends it to them again.
On receipt, the customer checks their parcel. If it is damaged, they refuse it or record their reservations with the carrier, and let us know as soon as possible via the website chat. This report does not remove any of the customer's rights: the warranties in Article 10 remain in force.
8. The right of withdrawal
The customer has 14 days from receipt to withdraw, without giving a reason and without penalty (Article L. 221-18 of the French Consumer Code). They inform us unambiguously, either from their customer account (“Return request” feature), via the website chat or by post to the registered office, with the form below if they wish.
They return the piece no later than 14 days after informing us, unworn, in its original condition, with its box. Shipping the piece to the workshop is at their expense. The address and instructions are provided to them after their request.
We refund all sums paid, including initial delivery costs at the standard rate, no later than 14 days after being informed of their decision, using the payment method used for the purchase. This refund may be withheld until we receive the piece or proof of its shipment. Customs duties and taxes paid when ordering are refunded together with the piece.
Personalized jewelry. A piece handcrafted with the word chosen by the customer is made to their specifications: it does not give rise to a right of withdrawal (Article L. 221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code) and is neither taken back nor exchanged, except for a manufacturing defect covered by the warranty. If the personalization received is not the one ordered, we take the piece back and remake or refund it, at our expense. Bracelets and rings bearing a collection word, only “maman”, “love” or “amour”, are not made to order: they can be returned on the conditions of a non-personalized piece.
9. Exchange or store credit
Beyond the right of withdrawal, a non-personalized piece can be exchanged or give rise to a store credit valid for one year, up to 30 days after its receipt, unworn, in its original condition, with its box and proof of purchase. Shipping to the workshop is at the customer's expense, shipping back in the case of an exchange at ours. If the new piece costs more, the customer pays the difference; if it costs less, they receive the difference as store credit. The procedure and returns at the boutique are described in the returns policy.
10. Warranties
Our commercial warranty. The jewelry is guaranteed against manufacturing or material defects for ten years for 18k gold (750/1000) and one year for 14k gold-filled (585/1000) and 925 sterling silver, from the date of purchase. The shine of 14k gold-filled is guaranteed for life. Not covered: impacts, snagging, improper handling and normal wear, rhodium plating and stone setting, and cord wear. Requests are made using the repair form. This warranty is in addition to the legal warranties below and does not replace them.
The legal warranties. The consumer has two years from delivery of the goods to enforce the legal warranty of conformity if a lack of conformity appears. During this period, the consumer is only required to establish the existence of the lack of conformity and not the date on which it appeared.
Where the contract of sale of the goods provides for the continuous supply of digital content or a digital service for a period of more than two years, the legal warranty applies to that digital content or digital service throughout the agreed supply period. During this period, the consumer is only required to establish the existence of the lack of conformity affecting the digital content or digital service and not the date on which it appeared.
The legal warranty of conformity obliges the trader, where applicable, to provide all updates necessary to keep the goods in conformity.
The legal warranty of conformity entitles the consumer to repair or replacement of the goods within thirty days of the request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to the consumer.
If the goods are repaired under the legal warranty of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the initial warranty.
If the consumer requests repair of the goods but the seller imposes replacement, the legal warranty of conformity is renewed for a period of two years from the date of replacement of the goods.
The consumer may obtain a reduction of the purchase price while keeping the goods, or terminate the contract and be refunded in full against return of the goods, if:
- the trader refuses to repair or replace the goods;
- the repair or replacement of the goods takes place after a period of thirty days;
- the repair or replacement of the goods causes major inconvenience to the consumer, in particular where the consumer permanently bears the costs of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or bears the costs of installing the repaired or replacement goods;
- the lack of conformity of the goods persists despite the seller's unsuccessful attempt to bring them into conformity.
The consumer is also entitled to a reduction of the price of the goods or to termination of the contract of sale where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination of the contract. The consumer is then not required to request repair or replacement of the goods first.
The consumer is not entitled to termination of the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.
Any period during which the goods are out of use for repair or replacement suspends the remaining warranty period until the restored goods are delivered.
The rights mentioned above result from the application of Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code.
A seller who obstructs the enforcement of the legal warranty of conformity in bad faith is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to as much as 10% of average annual turnover (Article L. 241-5 of the French Consumer Code).
The consumer also benefits from the legal warranty against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for a period of two years from discovery of the defect. This warranty gives the right to a price reduction if the goods are kept or to a full refund against return of the goods.
11. Personal data
The data collected when ordering is used to process and deliver the order. It is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the French Informatique et Libertés law and our privacy policy. The customer exercises their rights via the website chat and may refer the matter to the CNIL.
The phone number is used only for delivery. The customer can register free of charge on the Bloctel telephone solicitation opt-out list (Article L. 223-2 of the French Consumer Code).
12. Intellectual property
The texts, images, logos, creations and photographs on the website are protected. Any reproduction or use without our written permission is prohibited.
13. Applicable law, language and disputes
These terms are governed by French law, without depriving the consumer of the mandatory rules of their country of residence. They are written in French; translations are provided for the customer's convenience and, in the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
If a problem arises, the customer first writes to us via the website chat. If the dispute is not resolved after a written complaint, they can turn to the consumer mediator free of charge (Article L. 612-1 of the French Consumer Code): CM2C, 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, cm2c.net.
Failing agreement, the consumer may bring the matter, at their choice, before the court with jurisdiction under ordinary law or the court of the place where they resided at the time of the order or when the damage occurred (Article R. 631-3 of the French Consumer Code).
