What sets our rings apart
These rings are hand-shaped, worked with pliers, never cast in a mold: a solid wire of precious metal is shaped by artisans trained for months before their first piece. Each ring can be personalized with a name, a word, or an initial, because an initial is never a stock letter pulled from a prefabricated alphabet — it is someone's. Symbols, such as a number, a heart, or the infinity sign, remain possible on request. They come in White 18k gold, Yellow 18k gold, and Yellow 14k gold-filled, all hypoallergenic and certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council. The price difference between them comes down to the actual amount of gold present: 14k gold-filled is a solid envelope of 585 gold over a metal base, while 18k gold is a solid wire made of 75% pure gold, hallmarked and certified, which holds its value at resale.

The metal is cold work-hardened to hold its shape, then reinforced with laser micro-welding at the tension points. Atelier Paulin has been hand-shaping in Paris since 2014.
How to choose yours
Start by thinking about the material based on how you'll wear it: White 18k gold doesn't oxidize, making it the material to favor if you swim often, exercise frequently, or have your hands in water throughout the day. The warranty also differs by material: 10 years on 18k gold, versus 1 year on 14k gold-filled. As for sizing, the French ring size corresponds directly to finger circumference in millimeters: a size 54 means a 54mm finger circumference, or roughly 17.2mm in diameter. If you're torn between a few styles, the Original Initial Ring in Yellow 14k gold-filled at €120 offers an accessible entry point, while the Capital Initial Ring in White 18k gold at €615 combines durability with a refined look.
