The Original Initial Ring in Rose 14k gold-filled starts as a single strand of precious wire, hand-shaped in Paris since 2014, worked by hand with pliers alone, no molds involved, by artisans trained for months before shaping their first piece. Each ring is then laser micro-welded at its tension points and work-hardened as a whole, which gives the wire its shape memory and resilience. The lettering is set in lowercase cursive, except for the letter "J," hand-shaped as a capital when it opens a word, with no accents and no apostrophes. Every material used, including this rose 14k gold-filled wire, is hypoallergenic, recycled and recyclable, and certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council. This design is also available in yellow 14k gold-filled and sterling silver.
How to choose your Original Initial Ring
Start with the material and the size: two size ranges are offered, size 1 (48-53) and size 2 (54-58) in French sizing, which corresponds to finger circumference in millimeters — a size 54 measures about 17.2 mm in diameter. Next comes the personalization: one letter per ring, the initial of a name chosen from the standard alphabet, though another alphabet (Arabic, Hebrew, Cyrillic) can be considered on request, as can a symbol such as a number, a heart, or an infinity sign. Hand-shaping takes about 30 minutes, which is also enough time for a personalization to be done right in front of the customer at the atelier. Each ring is then presented in a gift box, ready to give, with resizing available within plus or minus two sizes depending on the lettering and the design.
