Personalized Jewelry: the families
The collection unfolds into several families depending on the piece you wish to personalize. On the bracelet side, the Bracelet Richelieu Personnalisé hand-shapes a word or a first name in 14k gold-filled, silver, or 18k gold wire, while the Bracelet Original Personnalisé follows the same logic in a more refined shape: it is the iconic piece of the atelier, the one from which everything began. The cord models further expand the range: from the Bracelet Cordon Attache moi Personnalisé to the Waxed Personalized Cord Bracelet for Men, through the Knot or Slim Knot versions, each combining a cord resistant to water and time, in different finishes and colors.
On the necklace side, the Collier Mantra Original Personnalisé allows a short phrase to be hand-shaped against the skin, or up to five first names, while the Richelieu Duo Necklaces let you personalize two. The Créoles Original Personalized Earrings complete the collection for those who prefer to wear their word as an earring rather than on the wrist or neck.
Rings can be personalized in three ways: the Original Personalized Ring holds a word of up to five letters, the Original Initial Ring a letter chosen from the twenty-six already hand-shaped, and the Capitale Initiale Ring a single capital letter. Brooches offer more room: the Original Personalized Brooch and the Épingle à Nourrice Personalized Brooch accept up to ten letters, enough to hand-shape an entire first name.
Not all pieces of jewelry in this family are personalized the same way: some by a word or several words hand-shaped upon request, others by one or more initials. It is therefore worth checking the option offered on the product page before composing your message.
The art of precious wire
Every letter is hand-shaped from a single gold or silver wire.
The metal is cold work-hardened to hold its shape, then reinforced with laser micro-welding at the tension points. Atelier Paulin has been hand-shaping in Paris since 2014.
How many letters, and on which model?
Each personalizable model indicates a maximum number of letters, specific to its shape and wire length. The lettering is written entirely in lowercase, with one exception: the letter "J" is hand-shaped in uppercase when it opens a word. A single writing style dresses the hand-shaped word, cursive, fluid and continuous, just like the wire that carries it. Accents and apostrophes are not hand-shaped, but a space can be added upon request to separate two words.
Two approaches coexist within the collection. The first hand-shapes the chosen word, letter by letter, within the limit indicated by the model. The second offers a single letter from the twenty-six already hand-shaped, as a "Letter" option, for a simple and legible initial. For those who want bold capitals, the "Capitale" and "Initiale capitale" models do indeed exist and are written entirely in capital letters: a graphic alternative in its own right, distinct from the usual cursive lettering. Symbols can also be hand-shaped upon request, to discuss directly with the atelier.

14k gold-filled, 18k gold or sterling silver 925?
Three materials make up this collection, each with its own character. 14k gold-filled, also known as Gold Filled 14 karat, combines a solid layer of 585/1000 gold with a metal base: it contains 50 to 100 times more gold than a traditional gold-plated piece and offers the same properties as 585-thousandths gold wire, in yellow or rose only. It can be found on pieces such as the Bracelet Cordon Réfléchissant Personnalisé or the Bracelet Cordon Phosphorescent Personnalisé.
18k gold is a solid gold wire made of 75% pure gold, often described as "the gold of French tradition." Each piece of jewelry in this material is hallmarked, certified, and hand-shaped by a jewelry artisan of the Maison, as seen in the Bracelet Cordon Original Personnalisé en or jaune 750/1000 or its version in white gold, with 18k gold available in yellow, rose, and white, unlike 14k gold-filled, which remains yellow or rose only.
Sterling silver 925, for its part, contains 92.5% pure silver, offers a bright, luminous white color, and proves hypoallergenic and antibacterial, a relevant choice for sensitive skin. The cord, finally, present on many models, is a high-quality synthetic fiber, resistant to water and time.

Wearing and caring for a hand-shaped piece
Each material requires different care. 14k gold-filled needs no particular maintenance, a soft cloth is enough, and it is not afraid of water: showers, pools, and the beach remain possible. The only precaution, to preserve the delicacy of the hand-shaped wire, is to remove it during intense physical activities or repeated handling. Its lifespan is measured in several decades.
Sterling silver 925 is a living metal: a thin layer of oxidation may appear upon contact with air or humidity, a natural and reversible phenomenon that never calls its quality into question. Cleaning with lukewarm soapy water and a soft cloth is enough, but, unlike 14k gold-filled, it is best to avoid pools, showers, and sports while wearing a silver piece. 18k gold also requires no particular care: lukewarm water, mild soap, drying with a soft cloth.
It is precisely this continuity of the hand-shaped wire, in a single piece and without solder joints between the letters, that distinguishes this jewelry from classic engraving, where the motif is carved into a flat surface: here, nothing is carved, everything is hand-shaped into the very material of the wire. Laser micro-soldering only reinforces the points of tension, once the word has been fully hand-shaped.
Each piece of jewelry in the collection is presented in a case, ready to be given as a gift or worn upon receipt. Shaping times are 1 to 3 business days for sterling silver 925 and 14k gold-filled, and 2 to 5 business days for 18k gold, not including shipping. For rings, available sizes range from 48 to 62.
