Back to School brings together a selection of jewelry designed to mark a fresh start: bracelets, necklaces, and rings hand-shaped in our Paris workshop. Some pieces can be personalized with a word, name, or initial hand-shaped from precious wire, while others are meant to be worn as is. Every piece has been hand-shaped since 2014 in our Paris atelier, from a single continuous strand of precious wire formed with pliers and then work-hardened cold to give it lasting shape memory. 14k gold-filled, sometimes called Gold Filled, is a solid layer of gold bonded to a base metal under heat and pressure: it contains 50 to 100 times more gold than traditional gold plating and comes only in yellow and rose. 18k gold (750/1000) is a solid gold wire made of 75% pure gold, available in yellow, rose, and white, with each piece hallmarked and certified by one of our Maison's jewelers. Both materials hold up well over time, but 18k gold remains a solid precious metal, while gold-filled pairs a gold layer with a base metal core.

Yes, that's actually one of the advantages of gold-filled jewelry: it's water-resistant, so showering, swimming, and the beach are all fine, unlike traditional gold plating. No special care is needed — an occasional wipe with a soft cloth is enough to keep its shine for decades. The one precaution we recommend concerns intense physical activity or repeated handling, which is best avoided to protect the delicate shape of these hand-shaped wire pieces, more than out of concern for water resistance.

The chosen word or name is formed from a single continuous strand of precious wire, hand-shaped and then cold work-hardened across the whole piece for lasting resilience. Letters are never carved into a flat surface — they're shaped directly from the wire, with pliers, letter by letter. Hand-shaped lettering is entirely lowercase, except for the letter 'J,' which is shaped as a capital when it appears at the start of a word. The shaped wire is then reinforced with laser micro-welding at points of tension, for long-lasting durability.

No, our workshop doesn't shape accents (é, è, à, ü...) or apostrophes, regardless of the piece chosen from the collection. However, spaces can be added on request between multiple words or names. If your name or word includes an accent, it will be shaped without it. We invite you to clearly specify the desired word when placing your order, and to reach out to us with any questions about how it will be shaped, so the final piece matches your expectations exactly.

Yes — while hand-shaped lettering is entirely lowercase by default, certain styles labeled 'Capital' or 'Capital Initial' are shaped entirely in uppercase letters. These styles follow a different approach from cursive-shaped words: they showcase one or more letters, shaped in uppercase from a single strand of precious wire. Availability depends on the specific piece within the Back to School collection, so we recommend checking each product page to see whether it's a lowercase cursive style or a capital-letter style.
