That's why bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, charms, and brooches each come in several materials, suited to a first fine jewelry piece as much as to a more symbolic gift. Some of these pieces can be personalized, others are worn as they are; and when personalization comes into it, an initial is never a character picked from a prefabricated alphabet, but someone's own initial, while symbols such as a heart or an infinity sign remain possible on request. Each piece is hand-shaped with pliers, with no mold, by artisans trained for months before shaping their first piece, then work-hardened as a whole, once the shaping is complete, to give it its shape memory. All of our materials, hypoallergenic without exception, suit a wide range of people: White 18k gold, which does not oxidize, is especially recommended for anyone who swims often, plays a lot of sport, or has their hands in water throughout the day. The price difference between materials comes down to the actual amount of gold present — 18k gold is a solid wire, stamped and certified, that holds a value proportional to the gold it contains, unlike the gold-filled layer. All of our materials are Responsible Jewellery Council certified. For a birthday gift when you don't know the exact size or name, the Atelier Paulin gift card, from €50 to €1,500, lets the recipient choose their own piece, material, and size; the price never appears in the package, as the invoice is sent by email to the buyer.
