The Richelieu Rope Chain Personalized Necklace belongs to the Original family, the one that started it all at Atelier Paulin. A word or a name, or one or more initials, are handcrafted into the yellow 14k gold-filled wire, up to 10 letters, in lowercase cursive, with only the "J" taking a capital letter at the start of a word. No mold is involved: the precious metal wire is worked with pliers, a gesture the artisans of this Paris workshop, founded in 2014, learn over several months before their first piece. In sterling silver, this same design comes with a one-year warranty, while the yellow 14k gold-filled version of this piece benefits from a lifetime shine guarantee, beyond the one-year warranty that covers manufacturing and material defects.
How to Choose Your Personalized Richelieu Rope Chain Necklace
The word or name to be handcrafted is chosen in cursive, the only style used for this continuous lettering; accents and apostrophes have no place in it, but a space can be added on request. A number, a heart, or an infinity sign can also be handcrafted on request, as can another alphabet—Arabic, Hebrew, or Cyrillic—studied by the workshop. The necklace length, set at 45 cm, is worn on a chain. Handcrafting a personalized piece takes about 30 minutes, the same time it takes to have a personalization made in front of the customer at the workshop for those who wish to visit.
