Bracelets designed to accompany a child, available in sterling silver, white 18k gold, yellow 18k gold or rose 18k gold, as well as yellow 14k gold-filled or rose 14k gold-filled, from €70 to €715. Each one is hand-shaped from a single precious metal wire, worked with pliers, never cast or molded: a gesture the artisans at the Paris atelier spend months learning before shaping their first bracelet. All materials used are hypoallergenic and Responsible Jewellery Council certified. Some of these bracelets can be personalized, others are worn as they are. Each piece comes in a jewelry box, ready to be given as a gift.
How to choose the right one
If the child swims often, plays a lot of sport, or tends to keep their hands in water, white 18k gold is the safest choice: it does not oxidize. For personalization, the child's actual initial works better than a purely decorative letter: the Initial Chain Bracelet hand-shapes it onto a fine chain, while the Initial Capital Cord Bracelet sets it in a capital letter on a cord. Symbols, such as a number, a heart, or an infinity sign, remain possible upon request; for a wider choice, locket charms let you add a motif afterward to any piece of jewelry, among religious symbols, a heart, a clover, or an initial. As for material, 18k gold is a solid wire made of 75% pure gold, hallmarked and certified, while gold-filled is a solid layer of 585 gold bonded to a base metal — the price difference comes down to this actual quantity of gold.
Who it's for, and for which occasion
A bracelet is chosen with the occasion in mind, and grows with the child. The warranty runs up to 10 years on 18k gold versus 1 year on gold-filled and sterling silver, and solid gold holds a value tied to the quantity of gold it contains, which also makes it a piece to pass down. If you don't know the recipient's size or name, the Atelier Paulin gift card, from €50 to €1,500, leaves the final choice to the person who will receive the jewelry, who can then choose their own piece, material, and size.
