The choice starts with the letter: the initial of a name, personalized on this model, selected at checkout, one letter per piece. On request, a symbol can also be added (a number, a heart, an infinity sign), and for a wider range, locket charms — religious symbols, heart, clover, initial — can be added to any piece on the site. As for material, this model also comes in yellow 14k gold-filled, white 18k gold, and yellow 18k gold; the latter two, in solid 18k gold wire that's hallmarked, are guaranteed for 10 years from the purchase date, while the shine of the gold-filled wire is guaranteed for life. White 18k gold, which doesn't oxidize, is particularly well suited to anyone who's often in water or plays intensive sports. The price difference between these materials comes down to the actual quantity of gold present: gold-filled wire is a solid layer of 14k gold bonded to a base metal, while 18k gold is a solid wire made of 75% pure gold, hallmarked and certified.
