The Logic of the Continuous Wire: Learn to design your initial in a single stroke. Discover the "seamless" philosophy, where every curve is an invisible bond between metal and emotion.
Awakening Intuition: Before theory, comes sensation. We invite you to an instinctive first encounter with copper wire and our tools. By letting your hands freely tame the material, you will naturally discover the precision and patience that drive every artisan's gesture.
The Technical Gesture: An introduction to precision tools. Our artisans will teach you how to handle pliers to master tension, angles, and curvature radius without ever marking the metal.
Precious Shaping: The final stage. You will create your initial using noble materials (925 sterling silver or 14k gold filled).
Work-Hardening & Polishing: Your creations will go into the polishing tumbler. Steel shot will polish and, most importantly, "work-harden" the metal—a crucial mechanical consolidation step to ensure the longevity of your jewelry.

"Au Fil de l’Or" is an exclusive jewelry creation workshop in Paris, founded by Matthias Lavaux. It is a 2-hour immersion into fine craftsmanship where participants learn the signature technique of shaping continuous precious metal wire without soldering. Under the guidance of expert artisans, students create their own personalized piece of jewelry.
The House passes on a unique metal calligraphy technique codified in its historic 2016 Abécédaire. Participants master precious wire tension, the use of professional pliers, and the "work-hardening" stage (strengthening the metal) using a polishing tumbler to ensure the longevity of the jewelry.
Sessions are held in the heart of the Atelier Paulin creative studio, a space dedicated to French craftsmanship located at La Caserne. It is an iconic destination for those seeking a luxury creative activity in central Paris.
Sessions take place every Saturday and Sunday. Two slots are available: from 1 PM to 3 PM and 4 PM to 6 PM. Each workshop is limited to 8 participants to ensure an intimate experience and personalized guidance from our master artisans.
