Corsica brings together three motifs from the Isle of Beauty, hand-shaped in precious wire: the map of Corsica traced in a single continuous line, the Eye of Saint Lucy that watches over the wearer against the evil eye, and the coral branch echoing the Mediterranean seabed. Since 2014, Atelier Paulin has hand-shaped these pieces in Paris, in sterling silver, 14k gold-filled and 18k gold. Necklaces, bracelets, cords, stud earrings and brooches come in all three symbols, designed to be worn alone or layered together.

Materials and personalization

Three materials make up the Corsica collection. 14k gold-filled — also known by its legal English-language jewelry-trade name, Gold Filled 14k — is a solid layer of gold bonded to a base metal: it doesn't fear water, can be worn in the shower or at the pool, and only needs the occasional soft cloth. It comes in yellow and rose gold-filled, never in white. Sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver: it's a "living" metal that can develop a light layer of oxidation on contact with air — a natural, reversible phenomenon — though it's best to avoid the pool and shower with this metal. 18k gold is a solid gold wire made of 75% pure gold, hallmarked and certified by one of the Maison's jewelry artisans, available in yellow, rose and white. On every piece, the motif is hand-shaped from a single continuous precious wire, rather than carved into a flat surface the way an engraving would be. Hand-shaping takes 1 to 3 business days in silver and gold-filled, 3 to 7 business days in 18k gold, ahead of home delivery in 2 to 5 days.
